In a fight against the nefarious Dr. Eggman, Sonic fights against him using the chaos emeralds. But, as it turns out, this was a trap so the doctor could use the power of the Chaos Emeralds to destroy the planet and unleash Dark Gaia, a powerful and evil ancient being. However, this comes with the side effect of giving Sonic a new form that turns him into the Werehog. When he crash lands back on the planet, Sonic comes across a small fairy-like creature (who he ends up naming Chip), who's lost all memory of who he was. Now Sonic needs to repair the planet, help Chip recover his memories, and learn how to manage his new Werehog form. This game combines the classic Sonic 3d formula in the daytime stages with the all new gameplay of playing as the Werehog in the nighttime stages.
Sonic Unleashed compared to other games was released on multiple different platforms, which means that there are more options to play the game on official hardware if that is how you want to play it.
Xbox: While this game was originally released for the Xbox 360, you can still play and purchase this game on newer versions of the Xbox currently. And for pretty cheap too at only $14.99: Visit the Xbox store
Play Station 2 and 3: Additionally, Unleashed was also released for the PS2 and PS3 on launch. However unlike the Xbox, newer versions of the Play Station do not support backwards compatability, meaning that you can't play this game on a PS5 if you wanted to.
Wii: Finally, this game was released on the Nintendo Wii. Much like the Play Station, you can't play Unleashed on newer Nintendo hardware. Additionally, the Wii version of this game also has some cut content due to the Wii's limitations. So, if you prefer to experience everything this game has to offer, this version may not be the best choice (However, if you want to emulate this game through Dolphin, which is discussed later, than this is the version you will want to play).
I will also write this tomorrow, but after class only because it's super late and I can't really be messing around and getting sucked into playing games (because this project literally gives me an excuse to finally download recompiled and I will probably get distracted playing it)
Gonna circle back around to this on Thursday when I have time to make all of the Dolphin Emulator tutorials that I want for this website. Jeez louise, this page is just full of placeholders rn isn't it?
